It was a grassroots initiative organised as a protest against the policy of Germanisation carried out in the Prussian partition. The boycott was also intended to increase the popularity of the spas located in the Polish lands. It was disputed whether or not the “Polish” Sopot, located in the Kashubian region, should be included. Calls for a boycott worried the German authorities, but had limited effect in practice. The decline in the number of spa visitors turned out to be temporary. One reason for this was the poor service quality offered by the resorts located in the Polish lands.}, type={Text}, title={Polityka (zdrowotna) doby rozbiorów.
