It emphasizes how great of an amenity it had been for a publishing house to have their own printing house and discusses the difficulties which an editorial office had to overcome when ordering printing service from non-Polish institutions. It also discusses the number and type of personnel hired in a printing house as well as attempts to estimate to what extent the environment of journalists and typesetters was identical to Polish journalists and publishers in emigration. It also mentions the relations between the employees of the printing houses and employers (including the Poles’ participation in strikes and trade unions), and the risks of working in the printing houses (e.g. accidents, fires).}, type={Text}, title={Drukarze i drukarnie polskie na emigracji}, URL={http://rcin.org.pl./Content/242316/WA303_279138_II16420_Nowosielska.pdf}, keywords={emigration, Polish diaspora, Polish Americans, émigré press, Polish periodicals - foreign countries - history, Polish printing houses, printers, fires at printing houses, Poland - emigration and immigration - history - 19th century, Poland - emigration and immigration - history - 20th century, Polish people - foreign countries - history, Polish people - foreign countries - intellectual life - history}, }
