The excavations covered 80 sq. m and cut across the heads of two out of five barrows located in the cemetery. FBC and PC materials were recovered. Burnt animal bones found in a barrow mound were radiocarbon dated, indicating the interval of 3633–3516 BC (at the probability of 68%). As far as can be deduced from the narrow exploration belt, the side enclosure of the barrows consisted of ditches dug into the undisturbed soil and filled with boulders of various sizes. A stone envelope/pavement could have also covered the mounds of these barrows. The Sobota barrows seem to find no analogy in the structures of this type in the FBC eastern group.}, title={First earthen long barrows in central Greater Poland.
